The MA is unique in making available to students from around the world the academic excellence of the relevant sections of London's academic community, together with the advantages of the city's unsurpassed research resources. Its aim is to offer to young scholars and to graduates returning to study the opportunity to build upon their undergraduate interests in the fields of the history of political thought and intellectual history. At the same time, it provides students with the necessary preparation for doctoral work in this area of research.
The programme brings together many of the outstanding merits associated with the institutions and research communities located throughout London, including those of Birkbeck College (Birkbeck), the Institute of Historical Research (IHR), King's College London (KCL), the London School of Economics and Political Science (LSE), University College London (UCL), Queen Mary (QMUL), and Royal Holloway (RHUL).
